Presbyterian Healthcare Who We Are

Our Staff

Presbyterian's high standards of medical care are reflected in the exceptional quality of our staff. We employ over 9,000 highly skilled healthcare professionals plus administrative and support staff.

Over 1,600 physicians have admitting privileges to a Presbyterian Healthcare facility where they have access to the most advanced diagnostic and treatment technology available. These physicians cover almost every medical specialty and can be located through our physician finder.

Together, our doctors, nurses, technicians and other professional staff work as a team to provide patients with the best possible care. Our partnership goal is to provide the tools, the setting and the support needed provide quality medicine at its best.

Because the talents and skills of our employees are our most valuable resource, we strive to attract exceptional people and provide them opportunities for personal and professional growth. Presbyterian Healthcare works to create a workplace that is satisfying, enjoyable, stimulating and rewarding. As proof of this commitment, Working Mother Magazine has recognized Novant Health three years in a row for its dedication to women and families. Novant was also recognized as a "Top 40 Family-Friendly Employer" by Carolina Parenting.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center  honored Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital Matthews, and Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville with the prestigious Magnet designation in 2008. As the highest honor in nursing, only five percent of hospitals nationwide have earned Magnet designation for excellence in nursing care. For nurses and clinicians, Magnet designation is the gold standard of care and represents and environment of autonomy, professional advancement, teamwork and collaboration among physicians, nurses and other clinicians. For patients and families, Magnet designation signifies high quality in care.

Presbyterian Healthcare also boasts one of the state's most active volunteer programs through Presbyterian Volunteer Services and Hospital Auxiliary. We have a dedicated team of 600 volunteers who donate more than 90,000 hours of their time each year.
