Women's Health Rehabilitation

Presbyterian Rehabilitation Center offers specialized physical therapy services for a number of conditions that can adversely affect a woman’s quality of life. Highly trained therapists work one-on-one with patients to determine the cause of their symptoms and create an individualized treatment program to help them reach their goals.

Our therapists have completed additional training in order to provide the highest possible level of care in a setting dedicated to women’s health.

  •  Private exam and treatment rooms
  • Individualized education and development of treatment goals
  • State-of-the-art pelvic floor muscle testing and training equipment, including computerized biofeedback
  • Rehabilitation gym for strengthening and coordinating exercise programs
  • Ongoing communication and collaboration with patients’ physicians
  • Referral to counseling services when needed

We specialize in treating the following disorders:

  • Stress/Urge (Urinary) incontinence (male and female)
  • Vaginismus/vulvadynia
  • Coccydynia/Levator Ani Syndrome
  • Cystocele/Prolapse
  • Chronic pelvic pain and dyspareunia (painful intercourse)
  • Pregnancy-related problems, such as back pain, symphysis pubis pain and carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Post-cancer treatment complications, such as post-mastectomy joint stiffness or intimacy problems following radiation*

*Following radiation treatment for cervical and other pelvic cancers, many women experience physical changes that affect intimacy, such as vaginal dryness and/or tightness and pelvic floor restrictions.
