Each of the Presbyterian Rehabilitation Center locations offers individualized, comprehensive plans of care for stroke patients including physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
Presbyterian Rehabilitation Center Charlotte also offers a specialized Stroke Rehabilitation Program that provides an interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation in an outpatient setting. The treatment team includes a medical director, registered nurse, case manager, physical therapist, occupational therapist, psychologist and speech therapist.
Treatment is designed to meet the individual needs of each patient and can include:
Patients may come to the center two to five half-days per week, depending on their condition. The team meets weekly to review the patient’s progress, and the results of the meeting are communicated to the referring physician.

Improved physical and cognitive functioning and communication skills

Enhanced coping for both patients and families

Medical management and education to prevent future strokes
The Stroke Program also offers a Stroke Support Group, which meets monthly at the Presbyterian Rehabilitation Center Charlotte. The Stroke Support Group offers different educational topics to patients and family members, as well as emotional and spiritual support.
Neurological Rehabilitation
In addition to our Stroke Rehabilitation Program, Presbyterian Rehabilitation Center Charlotte offers neurological rehabilitation for people with diseases, trauma or disorders of the brain and spinal cord.
