Pastoral care is the ministry of care and counseling provided by pastors, chaplains and other religious leaders to members of their group. At Presbyterian, we provide support and guidance to our patients, their families, and employees, as well as connections to the larger faith community.

Presbyterian Healthcare Chaplain Receives Prestigious Award

In his more than 20 years as a pastor and chaplain, Harry Burns has shared laughter, tears and words of comfort with many. Although humble and shy, Burns has a passion for bringing healing to individuals and families that has not gone unnoticed. Chaplaincy is typically the services of a priest, pastor, ordained deacon, rabbi, imam or other member of the clergy serving a group of people who are not organized as a mission or church, or who are unable to attend church for various reasons.

A Parish Nurse is a specially prepared RN who works within a faith community as a volunteer or paid employee. Parish Nursing is the practice of providing whole person care to the people of the community. It is a specialized area of nursing and is recognized by the American Nurses Association.
