Grief is a normal reaction to losing a loved one and everyone experiences these feelings in a different way. Our focus is not to tell you how to grieve, but rather to give you the information and support you need to cope with your feelings in a healthy way. Grief Support Services

Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care offers free counseling to anyone dealing with the death of a loved one or friend; even if the loss was not connected to our program. Services include special seminars, education and support groups.

Bereavement Support Groups

These support groups are available free of charge to anyone dealing with loss. Below are the locations and times of our current support groups:
Levine Senior Center - 1050 DeVore Lane, Matthews
2nd and 4th Monday of every month;  5:00 - 6:30 p.m. & 2nd and 4th Friday of every month; 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Buddy Kemp Cancer Suport Center - 242 Colonial Ave., Charlotte 
1st and 3rd Friday of every month; 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville (Chapel) - 10030 Gilead Road, Huntersville
1st and 3rd Monday of every month; 6 to 7:30 p.m.

We also offer seminars throughout the year which are designed to encourage those with a heavy heart and to help participants grow through positive, hands-on experiences. All seminars focus on providing practical applications for everyday life.

Annual Celebration of Remembrance - September 14, 2012 - Jack Matney Memorial Labyrinth at Presbyterian Hospital

Join us for our annual Celebration of Remembrance as we honor the memories of our loved ones, patients, family members and friends. Gather with others who have experienced loss and find ways to keep our loved ones alive in our hearts forever.

Memorial Prayer Vigil - May 2, 2012, 12:30 to 8:30 p.m. - Jack Matney Memorial Labyrinth at Presbyterian Hospital

Join us for a special evening of reflection. Walk the labyrinth while listening to scripture and prayers or join in prayer with a member of our prayer ministry team at our new prayer corner. Luminaries will surround this special event with the light of comfort as we remember our loved ones. Honor your loved one by purchasing a memorial luminary. Your $20 gift will support Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care.

Customized Programming
