Dr. Russell provides medical direction for all patients receiving hospice and palliative care, whether at home, in the hospital or long-term care facility, or on Presbyterian Hospital’s Harris Hospice Unit.

Back by popular demand, Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care is taking orders or fresh, "NC-made," 22" Fraser Fir Wreaths and 30' White Pine Garland Roping now through November 12, 2010. A $16 tax deduction is available on each purchase, and your gift goes to support Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care.

The pre-order price is $25 each for a wreath or strand of garland. To place an order, call Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care at 704-384-6478 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Orders must be received by November 12, 2010.

Bereavement Program

A bereavement program is for anyone dealing with a serious illness, grief or loss.

Palliative Care Program

A palliative care program focuses on relieving pain, symptoms and stress of patients with advanced diseases.

Inpatient Hospice Care

Provides compassionate care in an in-patient setting to patients with terminal illnesses, and supportive care to their families.

Hospice Services

Care provided to support a terminally ill patient at home. Hospice and pallitative care usually involve relieving symptoms and providing psychological and social support for the patient and family. The goal of hospice care is to provide the terminally ill patient peace, comfort, and dignity. To qualify for hospice care, a patient usually has a life expectancy of less than six months.

Home Health Services

We offer a variety of services for patients to receive care in the comfort of their own homes.

Pastoral Care

Pastoral care is the ministry of care and counseling provided by pastors, chaplains and other religious leaders to members of their group. Examples of Pastoral Care Services are:
