Radio frequency ablation is recognized as one of the most effective treatments for eliminating fast heartbeats. During the procedure, a catheter is inserted through the groin and guided all the way to the heart. When the catheter reaches the area to be treated, radio frequency energy is delivered to the treatment site. The energy destroys the heart tissue that was causing the rapid impulses of the heart.
