Yoga is a well-known health activity that increases flexibility, stimulates the mind and balances the body. Its effects have proven to be beneficial to cancer patients as well, as yoga is also shown to decrease stress, strengthen the immune system, improve balance and enhance overall wellness.
Presbyterian Cancer Center's yoga classes allow survivors an opportunity to receive expert instruction from yoga therapists with special training in oncology.
Our 8-week yoga course is appropriate all survivors at any stage of treatment or any level of physical ability.
This series teaches yoga basics such as breathing, relaxation, guided imagery, movement and meditation. There is a $20 fee for this 8-week course.
Ongoing yoga classes are appropriate for those who have completed the 8-week course.
These classes build upon concepts learned in in the 8-week course..
