What: This Friday, Presbyterian Hospital will receive a visit from the Kimberly-Clark Health Care HAI Education Bus for hospital employees and physicians to learn about healthcare-acquired infections (HAI) and how to prevent them. A 45-foot mobile classroom is outfitted for interactive training and continuing medical education courses. More than 25 different courses and training sessions will be offered.
Who: Presbyterian Hospital nurses, staff and physicians will have the opportunity to attend one or more classes on a variety of topics and best practices in infection prevention.
Why: Presbyterian Hospital emphasizes the importance of staying up-to-date on HAI education and research. In fact, Novant Health was recently honored with the prestigious Ernest A. Codman Award by the Joint Commission for successful efforts to improve hand hygiene compliance and reducing the spread of methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections. To date more than 300 hospitals, clinics and healthcare systems have used some or all of Novant's materials to improve hand hygiene in their own facilities.
