Presbyterian Presents Stroke Smart Skills for Survival

WHAT: As a part of National Stroke Awareness Month, Presbyterian Neuroscience Institute and the Levine Senior Center are teaming up to host StrokeSmart Seminar & Luncheon, a day dedicated to sharing vital information on all aspects of stroke including signs  and symptoms, risk factors and prevention and the latest life-saving technologies for stroke patients.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to a wide range of stroke experts during a lunch and afternoon presentation including a neurologist, an interventional neuroradiology, physical therapists, a speech therapist, an occupational therapist and a recent stroke survivor who will talk about her journey and recovery. A health fair will precede the afternoon panel discussion, and a variety of free health screenings and information will be available including:

  • Osteoporosis screenings
  • Memory screenings
  • Living wills    
  • Hospice information
  • Female/male incontinence   
  • Stroke Center information

  • Heart health information
  • Health library information
