PRESBYTERIAN HEALTHCARE RECEIVES OPTUMHEALTHSM CENTER OF EXCELLENCE DESIGNATION FOR PRESBYTERIAN BARIATRIC CENTER
Designation Recognizes Center’s Excellence in the Care of Patients Living with Complex Conditions

CHARLOTTE, N.C.— Presbyterian Healthcare announced it has been named a Center of Excellence (COE) by OptumHealth Care Solutions (OptumHealth), one of the nation’s largest health and wellness companies. A COE designation is given to those medical centers combining superior clinical care with excellent patient support. COE networks provide members with access to superior medical centers at industry-leading discounts for organ and bone marrow transplantation, cancer, congenital heart disease, neonatology, bariatric surgery and infertility treatment.

“We selected Presbyterian Healthcare because it represents a commitment to patients during some of the most critical points of care whether they are living with cancer, heart disease, are in need of a transplant or their newborn has intensive care needs,” said Chris Pricco, chief operations officer for OptumHealth, which oversees the COE program. “We commend Presbyterian Healthcare for its excellence in providing this level of quality in the care of patients.”

The Presbyterian Bariatric Center is nationally recognized for quality care. In addition to surgical weight loss, the Center offers a full range of non-surgical weight management options as well. Through a comprehensive team approach, patients receive personalized care from board-certified surgeons, nutritionists, psychologists and weight loss navigators working together to develop a weight loss plan that fits their needs.

“We are grateful to have received this designation as it reflects OptumHealth’s support of our mission to provide quality care that is accessible to people facing serious medical challenges while also highlighting our joint commitment to help people live their lives to the fullest,” said David Voellinger, MD, medical director of the Presbyterian Bariatric Center.

The Presbyterian Bariatric Center also offers surgical solutions seminars. Attending a surgical solutions seminar is one of the best ways to determine if you are a candidate for weight loss surgery. The seminars help individuals learn about the weight loss options that will meet their unique health needs and find out about surgical options available.
