Presbyterian Sports Medicine Physicians Ready to Care for World's Strongest Men

Presbyterian Sports Medicine physicians will provide medical coverage for athletes from across the globe when the MET-Rx World's Strongest Man 2011 competition comes to the Charlotte area beginning Sept. 15.

"I'm incredibly honored to serve as the lead physician for the annual World's Strongest Man event," said Eric Warren, M.D., a primary care sports medicine physician who practices at Waxhaw Family Physicians & Sports Medicine Center in Waxhaw, N.C. "It's not every day that 32 of the world's strongest men come to North Carolina, and our entire team is excited about the opportunity to attend to their medical needs throughout the course of the six-day event."

Qualifying rounds will take place at Wingate University on Sept. 15. The event will move to the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Sept. 16 and Rockingham Speedway on Sept. 17. Then, competitors will return to Wingate on Sept. 18 for the last day of qualifying events; some will move on to the final competitions at Wingate on Sept. 21 and 22. Learn More

The six-hour program will air in the U.S. on ESPN and internationally in December 2011/January 2012.
