CHARLOTTE, N.C. – During a recent meeting, Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation’s board of directors appointed Shawn Quillin, M.D., as the chairman of the board. Quillin is a board-certified radiologist and currently serves as chair of radiology at Presbyterian Hospital and chief radiologist at Mecklenburg Radiology Associates.
The board also added three new members:
• Jay Bilas holds a law degree from Duke University and is a partner at Moore and Van Allen. His primary job is as a sportscaster with ESPN. Jay is also a member of the Novant Medical Group board.
• Robert Deaton serves on the advisory board of the Physicians’ Impact Fund and is the managing partner of Deaton Capital. He and his wife, Gaither, are on the board of directors for their family foundation, The Robert White and Gaither Smoot Deaton Charitable Foundation.
• H.A. (Humpy) Wheeler is the chairman of The Wheeler Company and immediate past president and general manager of NASCAR’s Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS).
These new members are eligible to serve two, three-year terms.
Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation’s board is made up of community leaders who work to support the healthcare system in all matters related to philanthropy.
