"Seeds of Hope" Celebration to Include Yoga, Massage, Live Music, Food and Children's Activities
CHARLOTTE, NC - Presbyterian Healthcare is celebrating its 15th annual Cancer Survivor’s Day on Sunday, June 6 at 2 p.m. at Presbyterian Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center in Charlotte.
National Cancer Survivor’s Day is an annual worldwide celebration of life and is typically observed on the first Sunday in June. This day honors cancer survivors and unites them in a symbolic event that demonstrates the reality of a meaningful and productive life after a cancer diagnosis. This event also aims to recognize the contributions of the families, friends, researchers and healthcare providers who support cancer survivors.
Presbyterian Healthcare is proud to be hosting this event for the 15th consecutive year. “A survivor is anyone living with a history of cancer, from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life, and we are honored and proud to celebrate the strength, life and perseverance of these individuals,” said Marcia Lampert, manager of Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center.
As always, the primary mission of Survivor’s Day is to educate the public on the issues of cancer survivorship in order to better the quality of life for cancer survivors. Highlights of the event will include chair massages, nutrition consults, live music, great food and yoga/exercise information.
Cancer survivors, as well as family members, friends, doctors and other medical staff who support cancer survivors are encouraged to attend. Child-friendly activities such as face painting, mascot visits, inflatable games and arts and crafts encourage this event to be a celebration for the entire family.
