CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) at Presbyterian Hospital was honored with a Top Performer award by Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a national healthcare marketing organization that conducts satisfaction surveys to evaluate hospitals.
The Presbyterian Hospital CCU, as a top performer, was recognized by the 2010 National Excellence in Healthcare Awards for its performance closest to the 100th percentile in the PRC database. The unit was the only top performer winner in its category and was the highest-scoring CCU for 2009 among those that were eligible. This prestigious award defines the Presbyterian Hospital CCU as not only the highest-scoring CCU in Charlotte, but also the top-performing CCU in the PRC database nationwide.
“The excellent rating comes from the relationships our staff have with their patients,” said Mary Beth Poplin, director of nursing. “We strive to know each patient as an individual and bring a sense of security, warmth and compassion to each patient and family that enters our doors.”
In addition to this honor, Presbyterian Hospital received 30 other awards from PRC for patient care, employee satisfaction and medical staff perception.
