Community Event to Raise Money for Cancer Rehabilitation
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Presbyterian Cancer Rehabilitation & Wellness is proud to sponsor the second annual Yoga Warriors Against Cancer fundraiser that will take place at Yoga for Life studios on Friday, August 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. All proceeds benefit Presbyterian Cancer Rehabilitation & Wellness and will help to keep services, such as yoga, massages, and nutrition counseling affordable for cancer survivors.
Yoga enthusiasts, cancer survivors and members of the community are all invited to this special fundraising event. Participants can attend a 75-minute yoga class based on skill level, receive a chair massage and learn about wellness and nutrition from Presbyterian Cancer Rehabilitation & Wellness specialists and other local vendors. Food and refreshments will be provided by Pasta & Provisions, Savor Café and Catering, and The Burger Company.
Presbyterian Cancer Rehabilitation & Wellness provides symptom management services for cancer patients to help them maintain physical, emotional and spiritual health throughout treatment. Through yoga classes, patients learn relaxation techniques, reconnect with their bodies and reduce side effects associated with cancer treatment.
Yvonne Brown, yoga therapist, explains that Presbyterian Cancer Rehabilitation & Wellness classes are different than basic yoga classes offered in the community. “Our yoga therapists are specially trained to help cancer survivors during their initial recovery and give them support until they are ready to step out on their own.”
This event combines a love for yoga with a love for helping others, and all proceeds will help local cancer survivors during their treatment and recovery.
Yoga Warriors Against Cancer is open to any member of the community, from first-timers to yoga experts. Registration is $30. To sign up or learn more, visit www.presbyterian.org/yogawarriors or call 704-384-5338.
