Presbyterian Presents StrokeSmart Seminar & Luncheon

WHAT:  As a part of National Stroke Awareness Month, Presbyterian Neuroscience Institute and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews are teaming up to host StrokeSmart Seminar & Luncheon, a day dedicated to sharing vital information on all aspects of stroke, which is the third leading cause of death in the U.S. and a leading cause of disability. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions to a wide range of stroke experts during a lunch presentation including a neurologist, an interventional neuroradiologist and a neuropsychologist. Topics will include: Signs, Symptoms and Impact of Stroke, Stroke Detection and Life-Saving Treatment, and Rehabilitation and the Road to Recovery in Life after a Stroke. A health fair will precede the afternoon panel discussion, and a variety of free health screenings and information will be available including:
• Cholesterol, blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI) screenings
• Stroke Center information
• Hearing aid information
• Rehabilitation services
• Heart health information
• Health library information
• Living wills    
• Hospice information.
