CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Presbyterian Hospital recently received 27 awards from Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a national healthcare marketing organization that conducts satisfaction surveys for the hospital. The 2009 National Excellence in Healthcare Awards were distributed based on surveys completed by patients, employees and medical staff members during 2008.
For the tenth straight year, the annual PRC National Excellence in Healthcare Awards recognize organizations and individuals rated at the top of the healthcare industry by their patients, employees and staff members in comparison to other clients from a national database with the primary goal of attaining excellence.
PRC honors healthcare organizations with three different levels of awards -- Top Performer, 5-Star and 4-Star -- depending on how many people rate the facility as “excellent” in a broad range of areas. The Top Performer award indicates that facilities are at or above the 100th percentile for the Overall Quality of Care percent “excellent” score from the national client database. A 5-Star award means that the facility scored within the top ten percent of national healthcare facilities. To qualify for a 4-Star award, a healthcare facility must score within the top 25 percent.
