Charlotte, NC – A new school year has just begun.  Homework and sports are already well underway, but many students still have one to-do that is looming: get required immunizations. For the third year, the Presbyterian Hospital Community Care Cruiser is offering Big Shot Days to make it possible for un- and underinsured children under the age of 18 to get required immunizations avoid being excluded from class.

The Cruiser, a 40-foot long doctor’s office on wheels, and its dedicated medical team will offer the next Big Shot Day on Saturday, Sept. 18, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Warehouse 242, 2307 Wilkinson Blvd.   This is a new Big Shot Days location for the Cruiser, and the Warehouse 242 staff has taken planning to a whole new level.

“The Warehouse 242 team has been amazing,” exclaimed LeeAnne Broadway, program coordinator for the Cruiser.  “They’ve reached out to local schools, churches and nonprofits to spread the message that the Cruiser will be in the neighborhood to serve them.  In addition to Warehouse, partners like Coke, Lance and the Public Library will make Saturday an entertaining and educational event for all youth who attend.”

Parents and their children are welcome to stop by without an appointment, but families are encouraged to bring immunization records if available.

In addition to Big Shot Days, the Cruiser visits nine different locations each month throughout the Greater Charlotte community. It offers services such as primary care, developmental screenings, preventive education, disease diagnosis, and well-child check-ups for youth in need.  To learn more, visit www.presbyterian.org/cruiser.
