CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The early bird may catch the worm, but when it comes to breast cancer, the early bird catches it at its earliest and most treatable stage. This year Presbyterian Breast Center is encouraging women to be early birds and schedule their mammogram in September before Breast Cancer Awareness Month kicks off. All women who schedule an appointment by 9 a.m. are treated to breakfast.
“Many women assume that mammograms take a long time, are inconvenient and uncomfortable, and they use these reasons to put of scheduling this very important early detection tool,” said Elizabeth Currie, manager of Presbyterian Breast Center. “The truth is that screening mammograms only take a few minutes and provide minimal discomfort, meaning you can be in and out of your appointment without it impacting your day.”
Women have seven convenient breast center locations from which to choose, with offices in Uptown, Eastover, Ballantyne, Monroe, Matthews, Huntersville and University. Appointments are available as early as 7 a.m. To schedule a mammogram, call 704-384-7226 or visit www.presbyterian.org/pink.
