Presbyterian Healthcare will launch Presbyterian Fit Club, a 30-day program conducted on Facebook to promote overall health and wellness for the entire family. It kicks off September 13 and will feature daily lifestyle challenges and ways to make healthy eating and exercise fun. Each challenge will initially be issued on Facebook, and Presbyterian is encouraging participants to post about their experiences, share tips and connect with others for support and motivation.
Each day has an assigned theme, and the daily challenge will focus on that aspect of health and wellness. Move More Mondays, for example, will feature an exercise activity, and Tasty Tuesdays will feature a healthy, easy recipe. Wind Down Wednesday will include relaxation and stress relief tips, Thinking Ahead Thursday will focus on active, family-friendly weekend activities and Free For All Friday will include a variety of health tips or activities.
“I’m excited that Presbyterian is launching a Fit Club,” said Megan Talley, a Presbyterian employee. “Even as a healthcare worker I sometimes need gentle reminders to take care of myself, and Presbyterian Fit Club seems like a great way to live a healthy lifestyle in a fun way. I’m going to make my husband do the challenges with me!”
Presbyterian Fit Club is intended for people of all ages and ability levels. Prizes will be offered throughout the 30 days, so be sure to “like” the Presbyterian Healthcare Facebook page (www.facebook.com/presbyterianhealthcare) to be eligible for the giveaways. If you are interested in sharing your story or documenting your Fit Club journey, please leave a comment on our Facebook wall or email socialmedia@novanthealth.org.
