Charlotte, N.C. -- Of the thousands of talented nurses throughout North Carolina, only a very small percentage makes the Great 100 list. Julie Delcasino, Becky Greenspan, Pat McKinney and Susan Perrella were the four Presbyterian nurses chosen for their outstanding nursing care and dedication to the profession.
"These nurses have demonstrated excellent care and a commitment to the nursing procession," said Paula Vincent, MSN, senior vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at Presbyterian. "We are proud of their accomplishments and their dedication to and compassion for our patients and their families. Nurses like Julie, Becky, Pat and Susan help to ensure a remarkable patient experience, in every dimension, every time."
The Great 100, Inc. acknowledges 100 North Carolina nurses annually for excellence in patient care and their dedication to the nursing profession. The four nurses were nominated by their peers and chosen for this prestigious award. These nurses join an elite group who will be recognized at a gala on October 3.
Both Julie Delcasino, RN, and Susan Perrella, RN, work at Presbyterian Hospital; Julie is a nurse educator at Presbyterian Women's Center and Susan is a registered nurse in outpatient oncology at Presbyterian Cancer Center. Becky Greenspan, RN, works in pediatrics at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews. Pat McKinney, RN, works in the outpatient care unit at Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville.
The Great 100 Inc., based in Greensboro, N.C., is a grassroots organization founded in 1988 to honor the nursing profession. It seeks to recognize the vital role of nurses in patient care, have a positive effect on the public image of nurses and the nursing field, recognize outstanding nurses on an annual basis and award scholarships for nursing education.
