CHARLOTTE, N.C. — When faced with a prostate cancer diagnosis, men are often overwhelmed by the number of treatment options. For that reason, Presbyterian Cancer Center will be holding two information sessions for high risk and newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients during the month of September.
Participants will be able to hear from members of Presbyterian Cancer Center’s multidisciplinary prostate cancer team, including clinical research, medical oncology, nurse navigators, radiation oncology and urology talk about the latest treatment information and benefits to the different approaches to care. A Q&A session will be held at the end.
“We understand that every prostate cancer diagnosis is unique and that many men have questions about the various treatment options,” said Randi Koistinen, prostate cancer nurse navigator at Presbyterian Cancer Center. “We want to make their decision easier and alleviate some of the stress that accompanies a new diagnosis.”
The first information session will take place in Charlotte on Monday, September 12 from 6-8 p.m. at Presbyterian Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center. The second information session will be held in Matthews on Thursday, September 22 from 6-8 p.m. at the Levine Senior Center. Caregivers are welcome and dinner is included.
