New Physician Brings Female Perspective to Gynecologic Oncology

Charlotte, N.C. - Presbyterian Gynecologic Oncology and Novant Medical Group welcome Kellie E. Schneider, MD. With her arrival to the practice, located at the Presbyterian Hospital campus at 200 Hawthorne Lane in Charlotte, she will become Mecklenburg County’s only female gynecologic oncologist.

In addition to bringing a woman’s perspective to gynecologic oncology, Dr. Schneider will add to the practice’s team of physicians trained on the da Vinci Surgical System. She will join Matt McDonald, MD, FACOG, in performing advanced laproscopic surgeries and other minimally invasive procedures, as well as collaborate closely with the practice’s two physician assistants and other support staff.

The Texas native graduated from Auburn University in Auburn, AL. and earned her medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She then joined a fellowship with the University of Alabama at Birmingham’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Schneider is a junior member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is a member of the American Medical Association. She has published several articles on gynecologic cancers, treatments and the impact of treatments on patients’ lives.

Presbyterian Gynecologic Oncology provides advanced care to patients with gynecologic cancers. Treatment options include radical and laparoscopic surgeries and chemotherapy, as well as radiation therapies in partnership with Presbyterian’s radiation oncologists.
