CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Mark S. Kremers, MD, FACC, FHRS, of Mid Carolina Cardiology (MCC) has been selected to serve as chair of the Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) Registry Steering Committee. The ICD Registry is a nationwide quality program mandated by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for all Medicare patients receiving prophylactic ICDs. The registry data can help participating hospitals measure and improve care for these patients.
Dr. Kremers has also been invited to become a fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society, the organization’s highest level of membership. Dr. Kremers was honored during the President’s Reception at the Society’s annual meeting on May 14 in Denver, Colo. To gain fellowship in the Society, physicians must be considered an esteemed member of the Society and have significant achievements, service and prominence in the field of electrophysiology. As a fellow, Dr. Kremers will serve as a mentor to other Society members and advise the Society on matters related to electrophysiology.
Dr. Kremers earned his medical degree at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, Ind. and completed a residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
