Midtown OB/GYN is partnering with Discovery Place to offer a unique opportunity to the Charlotte community: a chance to test drive the da Vinci robot, an advanced surgical tool used to perform minimally invasive surgery. Visitors to Discovery Place on May 28 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. will have the chance to move the controls and perform the same moves as a surgeon would in an operating room.
The da Vinci robot can be used for a variety of procedures, including some gynecology, urology, bariatric, cardiothoracic and cancer surgeries. Advantages of a da Vinci surgical procedure include less pain, shorter hospital stay, less surgical complications and a quicker return to normal daily activities.
In addition to the ob-gyns from Midtown OB/GYN, physicians from Southeast Bariatrics and Urology Specialists will also be present to discuss the technology and explain the benefits of da Vinci robotic-assisted surgery.
