Diabetes Treatment

Diabetes is a condition where the pancreas is unable to produce insulin or does not effectively use the insulin that is produced. Insulin is a hormone that removes glucose (blood sugar) from the blood and delivers it to the body's cells for fuel. Diabetes is a chronic disease for which there is no cure. Once someone has diabetes, the only treatment is ongoing management of the symptoms through meal planning, weight control, exercise, stress reduction and medication.

Fine Needle Aspiration

For a fine needle aspiration biopsy,  a very thin needle is placed into the lump or suspicious area to remove a small sample of fluid and/or tissue. No incision is necessary. A fine needle aspiration biopsy may be performed to help to differentiate a cyst from a lump.

Hypogonadism Treatment

Hypogonadism is a condition in which sex organs, such as the testes or ovaries, are underactive. For both men and women, treatment ususally involves the use of hormone-based medicines.

Insulin Administration and Pump Training

Regular insulin injections are necessary for people with Type 1 diabetes. People with Type 2 diabetes may require medications and/or insulin to assist the body in making or using insulin more effectively. We can help evaluate if insulin injections and/or an insulin pump is right for you and show you the proper way to use it.

Osteoporosis Care

Treatment of osteoporosis, a disease, occurring especially in women following menopause, in which the bones become extremely porous and are subject to fracture.

Osteoporosis Testing

Osteoporosis is a disease that causes bones to become more fragile and more likely to break. A bone density test, also called densitometry or DEXA scan, can determine if you have osteoporosis or are at risk of osteoporosis before you break any bones.

Osteoporosis Treatment Plans

Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by low bone mass and loss of bone tissue. Treatment of osteoporosis depends on the cause of your condition, the severity of bone loss, and the response to treatments. In general, treatments include calcium, vitamin D, weight-bearing exercise, prevention of falls, and bone-friendly medicines.

Thyroid Disease Management

The thyroid gland is located in the base of the throat and controls the hormones used in the body's metabolism. Numerous treatment options are available for diseases and conditions impacting the thyroid gland.

Thyroid Testing

Various tests may be performed to determine if a patient has a thyroid-related disease or condition. Tests may range from bloodwork to ultrasounds, depending on the patient's symptoms.

Ultrasound

An ultrasound, also called sonography, is a diagnostic imaging technique which uses high-frequency sound waves and a computer to create images of blood vessels, tissues and organs. Ultrasounds are used to view internal organs as they function, and to assess blood flow through various vessels.
