Our pre-surgical testing department specializes in the needs of orthopaedic patients, and our inpatient units provide care for patients before and after surgery. The Total Joint Unit is an acute care unit specializing in care for patients who have had total joint replacement surgery. The Transitional Care Unit serves patients who need additional skilled nursing care before returning home. The team includes a nurse educator, patient education coordinator, registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and respiratory care specialists. This team works with our surgeons and anesthesiologists to provide assessment and appropriate therapy focused on the special needs of everyone receiving care at Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital.
