Level III Special Care Nursery

The Level III special care nursery at Matthews provides round-the-clock care for little ones who need it most. In this Level III Nursery, neonatologists (physicians who specialize in the care of premature and sick babies) and neonatal nurse practicioners work closely with a team of specially trained registered nurses, respiratory therapists, medical social workers and other neonatal professionals.

Critical Care Transport

Presbyterian Critical Care Transport takes critically ill infants, children and teens from area hospitals to Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital for treatment. The dedicated pediatric transport staff was the first team in the area just for children.

The mobile unit and its special treatment team respond quickly to calls. Intensive care treatment begins immediately upon arrival at the referring hospital and continues during transport to Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital in Charlotte.
