G-Wing Expansion

Following two years of construction, Presbyterian Hospital will unveil its new G-wing, which includes the pharmacy, operating rooms and pediatric and adult emergency departments (ED).

Presbyterian Hospital has added more floors, hospital beds, operating rooms and expanded our services to meet the needs of our patients. We are excited to be building the future of remarkable medicine.

  • The new G-wing is a 41,500 square foot, three-story expansion and renovation project.
  • The first floor is the pediatric emergency department (ED) which is three times larger and has 14 beds, including larger critical care/trauma rooms. The pediatric ED has a dedicated entrance and waiting room for children and their parents. The child-friendly space features under-the-sea themed murals in every room plus a virtual aquarium.
  • The adult ED is also on the first floor and features a larger triage space, including EKG and treatment rooms, an updated reception area, a renovated cashiers office and a dedicated entrance for adults.
  • The second floor includes seven new, large, state-of-the-art operating rooms (ORs) that were specifically designed by our surgeons and OR team. The OR area is 17,383 square feet and has an optimum workflow design for efficiency and easy access to supplies and equipment. The ORs all contain a high-tech computerized intgration for X-ray, laparoscopic and robotic pictures on monitors and also the ability for surgeries to be viewed outside of the operating room on a large screen for educational purposes.
  • The third floor will consolidate all pharmacy services throughout the facility into one central location. The capabilities include an automated medication retrieval system for a more efficient work flow and a state-of-the-art IV room that electronically monitors environmental conditions.
  • The total cost of this project is estimated to be $26 million dollars.
