Our wound treatment services include hyperbaric oxygen therapy, nutritional and diabetes assessment and education, wound debridement, dressing changes, physical therapy, orthotics and referrals for other long-term therapy options. We also educate patients and family members about the appropriate wound care required for treatment, preventive measures and causes of particular wound types.

Our team of specialists uses the latest in wound care treatments, including Apligraf Skin Equivalent and Wound Vac.

The Center for Wound Care is located in Suite 760 of Midtown Medical Plaza. Parking is available in a deck that is accessible from Randolph Road, just east of the intersection with S Caswell Road.

Growth Factor Therapy

Growth Factor therapy involves the use of proteins that occur naturally in our body, called Growth Factors. Growth Factors are chemical messenger cells, and there are many different biological functions that they can induce by binding to receptors on cell surfaces.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Therapy exposes the body to 100 percent oxygen under increased pressure. HBO is often used in combination with other treatments such as surgery or antibiotic therapy, and is used to care for patients with diabetic ulcers, infection of the bone, post radiation treatment wounds, post surgical wounds, preparation and preservation of compromised skin grafts/flaps and more.

Vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) is a non-invasive technique whereby negative pressure is delivered in a uniform manner to a wound. This encourages the arterioles to dilate, so improving blood flow, promoting a moist environment and assisting in the proliferation of granulation tissue.
