About the Program

In this orientation program, participants spend time in unit orientation, complimented by additional classroom and group-learning experiences. Orientation continues beyond the completion of the program by the unit preceptors for as long as necessary to assure competent performance of the new nurses.

Eligibility

Our Nurse Internship program is designed for registered nurses (RN) who have successfully completed an accredited bachelor's or associate's degree nursing program and passed the state board exam. An internship agreement must be signed before beginning work as a new graduate nurse.

Scheduling

Orientation length varies depending on position. Program length is 12 weeks for RNs entering med-surg areas and six months for RNs entering critical care areas. Shifts and schedules vary depending on the unit.
