December 21,2007 -- Thanks to a fund set up at Presbyterian Hospital, Kiwanis donated $10,000 to help alleviate debts accrued by families experiencing the financial burdens of a cancer diagnosis.

October 23, 2007 -- Presbyterian Hospice and Palliative Care will host "Handling the Holidays," a class that focuses on celebrating the holidays after the loss of a loved one, Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 at the McGill Rose Garden from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The class will teach participants how to manage the holiday season after the loss of a loved one and will be offered on three separate dates in various locations.

September 29, 2007 -- Jared N. Schwartz, M.D., Ph.D., F.C.A.P., was recently elected to serve as the 30th President of the College of American Pathologists (CAP). Dr. Schwartz, who was officially installed to serve during the group's national meeting in Chicago, is the first physician from North Carolina to be elected to serve as president.
September 27, 2007 -- Presbyterian Hospital's Hospice and Palliative Care will be hosting "Now What Do I Do?," a practical class on managing daily life after the loss of a loved one, on Oct. 6, 2007 at Buddy Kemp Caring House from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The class will teach participants how to manage a daily routine after the loss of a partner.
