Presbyterian Novant Medical Group Hires New Leader

Charlotte, N.C. -- Dari Caldwell, RN, Ph.D., FACHE, will join Presbyterian Novant Medical Group as senior director for growth and development. Dr. Caldwell will assume her post with the organization in the coming weeks.

For the past two years, Dr. Caldwell served as vice president of operations for Cabarrus Family Medicine, PA. There, she was responsible for the operations of all Cabarrus Family Medicine services, including the oversight of eight practices that are staffed by more than 45 physicians and 250 employees in Cabarrus and Stanly counties.
Prior to her tenure with Cabarrus Family Medicine, Dr. Caldwell served as vice president and chief operating officer at NorthEast Medical Center, a post to which she was appointed during her decade-long career with the organization. Previously, she served in various hospital capacities, including patient care services vice president, chief nurse executive and ambulatory clinical director/family services.
Dr. Caldwell earned a doctor of philosophy in healthcare administration from Columbia Pacific University. She also obtained a masters of science degree in nursing from Duke University and a nursing bachelor of science degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her widely published works have been included in many healthcare publications on topics including open heart surgery, hospital administration, nursing and more.
During her training, Dr. Caldwell held clinical and leadership positions at facilities around the nation, including Seton Medical Center, Duke University Medical Center, Johnston Memorial Hospital, Wilson Memorial Hospital, Downey Community Hospital, St. Agnes Hospital and White Plains Hospital Center. Dr. Caldwell also has extensive training in a variety of critical care and trauma environments.
Among Dr. Caldwell's long list of prestigious appointments is a current post on the Chancellor's Advisory Committee on Family Medicine at Duke University Medical Center. A community activist for many organizations, such as the United Way, Junior League and church groups, Dr. Caldwell currently serves on the board of directors of the Cabarrus Regional Chamber of Commerce, Cannon Memorial YMCA and Alliance for Tomorrow.
Dr. Caldwell is the recipient of many healthcare industry and community awards, including Business Today's "Top 10 Most Influential Women in the Golden Crescent" and WSOC Channel 9's "Focus on Cabarrus County--Top 5 Business Leaders" award.
