CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Presbyterian Cancer Center is inviting all breast cancer survivors and their family and friends to join the Queen of Hearts and the Mad Hatter for a Tea Party! This event, held at Presbyterian Buddy Kemp Caring House, promises fun, laughter and great music for those who are celebrating their survivorship.
In addition to tea time and sharing stories, survivors are encouraged to bring an item to donate to the Lending Boutique located inside the Buddy Kemp Caring House. Items may include new or gently used hats, scarves, wigs, caps or turbans. Many women look to the Lending Boutique for accessories that help aid in levying the discomfort felt from appearance-related side effects.
The "Alice in Wonderland" theme of the tea party is prompting some Cancer Center employees to shed their everyday clothes and dress in costume. They will be serving up tasty food and drinks to those in attendance while they enjoy the melodies of a pianist.
Presbyterian Buddy Kemp Caring House is located at 242 S. Colonial Ave. Those are who interested in grabbing a cup of tea and socializing with other survivors at this special event should contact the media phone (704-617-2631) for directions and parking instructions.
