Charlotte, NC -- Nine family friendly productions representing a variety of performing arts genres will be featured on the inaugural 2007-2008 Presbyterian Hospital Family Series. The new series, sponsored by Presbyterian Hospital - the official healthcare provider of the Center - features everything from Broadway to world music to modern dance.
Featured Productions include Ladysmith Black Mambazo, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley, Cirque Dreams: Jungle Fantasy, An Evening with Rockapella Holiday, Cats, The African Chidren's Choir, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Katie Couric's The Brand New Kid and Ring of Fire.

The Grammy-winning a cappella South African singing group, which rose to international prominence as a result of singing on Paul Simon's album Graceland, celebrates the traditional music and culture of the Zulu people.
THE MUSICAL ADVENTURES OF FLAT STANLEY

Stanley Lambchop is your normal, everyday kid until one day he wakes up flat! Based on the popular children's book series by author Jeff Brown, with illustrations by Scott Nash, The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley brings this beloved character to a new generation of families through song, dance and the spectacle of live theatre.
CIRQUE DREAMS: JUNGLE FANTASY
October 30-November 4, 2007 - Ovens Auditorium
An international cast of graceful aerialists, spine-bending contortionists, vine-swining characters, strong men and balancers bring this jungle dream to life in a lush, Broadway setting filled with wildly unpredictable designs, special effects, inventive choreography, puppeteering and dazzling costumes.
AN EVENING WITH ROCKAPELLA HOLIDAY
December 12-13, 2007 - McGlohon Theatre
A unique pop musical quintet, Rockapella has taken the previously stodgy music genre of a cappella and brought it barreling into the 21st century, by blending soul, rock, R&B and jazz, as well as featuring a full-time mouth drummer (otherwise known as a voacl percussionist).

The world's second longest-running musical, Andrew Lloyd Webber's TonyŽ-winning feline extravaganza that features the global hit "Memory," depicts a litter of cats in a garbage-strewn alley where one will be allowed to ascend to kitty heaven.
THE AFRICAN CHILDREN'S CHOIR

This choir of musically gifted children, which features African youth ages 7-112, many of whom have lost one or both parents through the devastation of way, famine and disease, performs joyful African melodies and dance, and represents the future of the continent.

February 15-17, 2008 - Belk Theater
The country's preeminent modern dance troupe, which celebrates the African-American experience (exemplified best in founder Alvin Ailey's seminal masterpiece Revelations), returns to Charlotte by popular demand.
