Hospital Leader Receives State Healthcare Award

Charlotte, N.C. -- Tom Elmore, Novant's vice president for growth and development and a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, received a Regent's Award from the American College of Healthcare Executives. Elmore, a Regent for North Carolina's Western Chapter, won the award for Best Regent/RAC Sponsored Project for 2006.
Elmore was part of an award-winning team that:
- Consolidated Regent regions from two into a single region
- Helped facilitate movement to fully chartered chapter status
- Identified and facilitated the development of local programs and councils
- Extended chapter services to remote regions of North Carolina
"As a result of this project, two additional chapters became fully chartered and several new local program councils are in development," said Elmore, who has held the Regent post since 2005. His chapter includes 141 new members and 14 new fellows.
