CHARLOTTE, NC -- This spring, a new partnership has blossomed between the North Carolina Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and Presbyterian Hospital. The new relationship will allow the Center to enhance its upcoming family oriented programming. Additionally, touring artists and show personnel will have ready access to medical services should that need arise.
"From singers to actors and all other artists who infuse our community with creativity, Presbyterian Hospital is delighted to serve as Blumenthal's healthcare provider of choice," says Carl Armato, president and CEO of Presbyterian Healthcare.
As the Official Healthcare Provider of the Center, Presbyterian Hospital will sponsor a series of family-oriented productions beginning with several shows this spring and continuing through the 2007-2008 season. The hospital's network of physicians and other clinicians also will offer medical care for the casts and support staffs of the nationally touring productions appearing at the Center.
"We are thrilled that Presbyterian Hospital has committed to this generous partnership, and we are delighted at the opportunity it presents to expand our family programming," says Center President Tom Gabbard.
"This partnership also helps resolve a key concern for every production - ready and quick access to excellent medical care should a company member require it while on tour. Identifying and gaining access to quality care can be difficult for a touring company, and this new relationship will ensure that is never an issue when a company is visiting Charlotte."
The sponsorship kicks off this spring with Presbyterian Hospital serving as the sponsor for three exciting family shows" Fred Garbo's Inflatable Theater, April 1; Cirkus Inferno, May 5; and Go, Diego, Go Live! The Great Jaguar Rescue, June 15-17.
"The Presbyterian Hospital commitment comes at an ideal moment, as the Center is planning -its 2007-08 season," added Gabbard. "Through our sponsorship, the Center will be able to create a Presbyterian Hospital Family Series featuring six to eight shows, including several Broadway titles."
