CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Being diagnosed with cancer is no treat, which is why Presbyterian Cancer Center and Ballantyne Village Modern Salon & Spa have teamed together to offer patients and survivors a free day of pampering they will never forget. This event, aptly named Marvelous Mondays, will take place on a quarterly basis beginning March 19 and is open to anyone in the community with a cancer diagnosis.
Registration is limited to the first 110 callers, but those who make the list will enjoy a selection of spa services, ranging from facials and massages to hair styling and makeup consultations. "Cancer can be a very demoralizing disease," said Pam Elders, cancer survivor and Presbyterian Cancer Center volunteer program coordinator. "Our goal is to help cancer survivors feel good about themselves and to remember how beautiful they are."
The staff at Modern Salon & Spa feel the same way. "We may not have the clinical expertise, but we can still do our part to reach out to the cancer community and let them know we care," said Amanda Moser, stylist. "This event means so much to our staff that they have all have blocked their day to offer free services to participants."
