CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Valentine's Day frequently is celebrated with flowers, chocolate and the occasional teddy bear. For Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital patients, however, this year's holiday celebration was so much more. Thanks to Kids Wish Network's Holiday of Hope Gift Bank and presenting sponsor, Charlotte Pediatric Dentistry, patients found love at first site with the unveiling of a $100,000 toy sponsorship, to be distributed throughout the year.

Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital was the first in the state to establish a relationship with Kids Wish Network - a Florida-based charity dedicated to infusing hope, creating happy memories and improving the quality of life for children - in 2006. Due to the program's tremendous success, the Holiday of Hope Gift Bank has returned to Presbyterian for a second year; this time with an even greater amount of toys.

According to Pat Campbell, executive director of Presbyterian Womens and Children's Services, "The joy of bringing a smile to a sick childs face is immeasurable. Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital is proud to be associated with an admirable program like Kids Wish Network that is continually committed to improving the lives of hospitalized children."

The toy unveiling took place during a special Valentine's Day celebration at Hemby Children's Hospital, complete with mascot visits, pet therapy dogs and festive treats.
