"Blossoming Out of Grief": Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care's 5th Annual Celebration of Life
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Stop and smell the roses. That is what "Blossoming Out of Grief," Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care's 5th annual Celebration of Life, is all about taking a day to honor the memory of lost loved ones. The program, which allows friends and family members to gather in a large group setting, is not only a commemoration of life, but also a way for people to grapple with the puzzling process of death and the grieving that accompanies such life changes.
"'Blossoming Out of Grief' is about celebrating the lives of those who have had an impact on others," said Christine Snipes, community relations coordinator for Hospice & Palliative Care. "We want to offer a forum for people to discuss the grief and joy that theyre experiencing in their lives."
The afternoon event will be comprised of a light luncheon and respective group activities for adults and children. Hospice memorials will be available along with memorial roses from the Adopt-A-Rose program, a service provided by the McGill Rose Garden.
Presbyterian Hospice & Palliative Care provides quality care for terminally ill patients to make their final stages of life as comfortable as possible. In addition to personalized patient programs, Presbyterian offers free grief counseling for friends and family members. Other patient services include pet therapy and a new music therapy program that will be available in the coming months.
The 5th annual Celebration of Life, "Blossoming Out of Grief," will be held Saturday, June 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the McGill Rose Garden, which is located at 940 N. Davidson St. Please call the media phone at 704-617-2631 for more information regarding this event.
