Presbyterian Earns Awards for Best Practices, Clinical and Leadership Excellence

Presbyterian Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews recently were named winners of several awards from VHA, Inc., for best practices, clinical and leadership excellence. The hospitals were honored by VHA, Inc., a nationwide network of more than 2,200 community-owned healthcare organizations.
Presbyterian Hospital was honored with the Best Practice Clinical Quality Improvement Award for StrokeSense, which links community outreach, outcomes measurements and clinical improvement process knowledge. The program creates collaboration between the patient, community and healthcare providers.
Presbyterian Hospital was a finalist for the Best Practice Innovations Award for the VHA Target: Diabetes initiative that Presbyterian has participated in for almost two years. The project goal is to improve quality outcomes for our communities and patients with diabetes.
Additionally, Presbyterian Hospital and Presbyterian Hospital Matthews received Leadership Awards for Clinical Excellence. These awards honor organizations that differentiated themselves around national standards by performing at the 90 percent or above level on clinical core measures.
