MATTHEWS, NC - On April 5, the hospital finished the final phase of the expansion and opened its doors to the public. Seven months ago, Presbyterian Hospital Matthews celebrated the completion with the first phase of the expansion and renovation of its emergency department. The expansion will allow the hospital to better serve patients and the community by increasing the number of treatment rooms, while reducing the amount of time a patient has to wait.
The emergency department at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews increased their number of treatment rooms from 17 to 33 and their space to more than twenty-two thousand square feet. As part of the construction, separate areas were created for fast track minor care, critical illness and chest pain.
Matthews continues to rank among the top three percent of hospitals nationally for inpatient satisfaction. For three consecutive years, Professional Research Consultants has ranked the hospital among the highest nationally. PRC is a nationally-known healthcare marketing research company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
Presbyterian Hospital Matthews, located at 1500 Matthews Township Parkway, Matthews, NC, offers a full range of medical services including inpatient and outpatient surgery, radiology, laboratory, emergency services and cardiac catheterization at its 102-private-room facility.
