"What many people do not realize is that skin cancer accounts for the greatest number of new cancers diagnosed in a year," says Maria Long, manager of prevention and early detection at Presbyterian Cancer Center. "Over one million people will be diagnosed in 2006 alone. With warm weather quickly approaching and everyone spending more time outdoors, it is imperative to remember the damaging effects the sun can have on your skin."
