Presbyterian Cancer Center Receives Komen Foundation Grants

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- As testimony to their dedication to making cancer services available to all populations, Presbyterian Cancer Center recently was awarded four grants from the Susan G. Komen Foundation - Charlotte Affiliate.
The funds, highlighted below, are intended to support persons who are under or uninsured, represent underserved populations, or who are experiencing temporary financial hardship due to their illness.

Buddy Kemp Caring House (community program offering support groups, counseling services and educational resources)
- Awarded $18,000 for financial crisis

Strides to Strength (12 week cancer physical and emotional wellness program)
- Awarded $5,000 for participant scholarships

Lymphedema Clinic (symptom management for lymphatic swelling)
- $16,500 for garments and bandages

Early Detection and Prevention
- $35,000 for screening and diagnostic mammograms
Presbyterian Cancer Center is a recipient of the Outstanding Achievement Award from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer; another example of their commitment to providing medical knowledge, leading technology and nurturing care to patients and their families.
