Novant Health was recently named a Top 40 Family-Friendly Company by Charlotte Parent magazine. The award recognized Novant for its creativity, commitment and investment in making work/life balance easier for its employees.

Novant, which consists of Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital Matthews, Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville, Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital, Forsyth Medical Center, Medical Park Hospital, Thomasville Medical Center, and two physician networks, was honored for its comprehensive employee insurance packages, elder care resources, tuition reimbursement, and part-time work.

Novant's on-site child-care centers received special recognition for providing transportation services from school, age-appropriate learning activities and excellent interaction between teachers and children. Novant also offers "sick care" for children in a clean and safe environment with qualified caretakers, some of whom are nurses.

"We are honored to receive this award," said Debbie Bolick, manager of workforce initiatives at Presbyterian Hospital. "Novant strives to provide each employee with an excellent work environment, and we recognize that not only do our employees have a commitment to us, but to their families as well."

To achieve a Family-Friendly 40 designation, companies had to be nominated by an employee or employer, and a committee selected winners based on a combination of compelling testimonials and overall family-friendly benefits. The Family-Friendly list honors the investment and salutes companies for their support of working parents.
