Presbyterian Earns Awards from Professional Research Consultants

Professional Research Consultants (PRC), a national healthcare marketing research company, recently announced its 2005 Client Satisfaction Achievement Awards. The awards are based on patient, employee and medical staff satisfaction surveys conducted in 2004. Presbyterian Hospital, Presbyterian Hospital Matthews and Presbyterian Orthopaedic Hospital received a total of 41 awards.
"These awards are reflection of how our staff is working together to provide better care for our patients," said Carl Armato, CEO of Presbyterian Healthcare. "We are honored to be the recipient of so many awards from PRC."
The 5-Star awards are only given to facilities or units that score in the top ten percent of the PRC international client database for the prior calendar year. It is based on the percentage of patients who rate a facilitys overall quality of care as "excellent." Presbyterian Healthcare earned 15 of these awards. 5-Star award winners are:

The 4-Star awards are given to facilities or units that score in the top 25 percent of the PRC national client database for the prior calendar year and are based on the percentage of patients who rate a facilitys overall quality of care as "excellent." Presbyterian Healthcare earned 25 of these awards. 4-Star award recipients are:

Additionally, Presbyterian Hemby Children's Hospital's rejuvenation committee received a Gold Achievement Award. This award recognizes units that improve key drivers, which show the hospital where to focus their efforts to improve physicians' perceptions of and satisfaction with our services and departments. Unlike the other PRC Patient Awards, the PRC Achievement Awards are based on entries submitted by clients.
Based in Omaha, Neb., PRC compiles the data and compares hospitals across the nation. Hospitals are then awarded for their top rankings in the national database of patient satisfaction.
