A 26-year employee of Presbyterian Healthcare, Paula Vincent has been named vice president of community acute services for the healthcare system.
In her new role, she will continue serving as the administrator for Presbyterian Hospital Matthews and Presbyterian Surgery Center SouthPark as she has for the past three years. Once the new administrator for Presbyterian Hospital Huntersville has been named, that administrator will also report to Vincent to benefit from her knowledge of managing a successful community hospital.
Presbyterian Hospital Matthews saw many successes under Vincent's leadership. Most recently, the hospital was recognized nationally as a five-star customer service hospital in inpatient services. While under Vincent's administration, the hospital also saw dramatic increases in revenue - a 26 percent increase from 2001 to 2002. Presbyterian Hospital Matthews added a new self-contained endoscopy unit, two additional operating suites and a fixed MRI.
Vincent holds bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She serves on the executive committee of the American Heart Association and on the boards of the Matthews-Mint Hill Rotary and the Matthews Chamber of Commerce. Vincent is also an active supporter of the Matthews Alive, Mint Hill Madness and Blooming Arts festivals.
