Presbyterian Board Adds Three Members

Three community and regional leaders, Barbara J. Desoer, Benjamin P. Jenkins, III, and Krista S. Tillman, have been named to Presbyterian Healthcare's Board of Trustees.
Barbara Desoer, who is also a member of the Presbyterian Hospital Foundation's board of directors, is the consumer products executive for Bank of America and a member of the bank's risk and capital management operating committee. She joined the bank in 1977.
In addition to her work at Presbyterian, Desoer is a member of the advisory council for the Haas School of Business at the University of California Berkley, where she received her master's degree in business administration, and a member of the business advisory council of the Belk College of Business Administration at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She also serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Dance Theatre and the United Way of Central Carolinas.
Ben Jenkins serves as head of the general bank for Wachovia where he has worked for the past 32 years. In this position, he coordinates all state-based retail and wholesale activities including branch delivery, commercial operations and corporate and segment customer service.
He brings not only business skills to Presbyterian's board but also experience in community service through several other board positions. Jenkins is a member of the board of trustees for Queens University and a member of the board of advisers and the board of visitors for North Carolina State University. He served as 2002 Campaign Chairman for the Mecklenburg Arts & Science Council. Jenkins is a graduate of North Carolina State University and the University of Alabama.
Krista Tillman, who will join the board in January, is president of BellSouth's North Carolina Operations. She is a graduate of Georgia State University and Georgia Institute of Technology and brings 24 years of experience at BellSouth to her new position on Presbyterian Healthcare's Board of Trustees. Tillman has worked in several positions at BellSouth including senior director of market development, assistant vice president of business development and president of small business services.
Her extensive involvement in community affairs includes serving as chair for Charlotte Center City Partners and co-chair for the Communities in Schools Charlotte/Mecklenburg. She is a past chairman for N.C. Business Committee for Education and is affiliated with 18 other organizations, either as a director, trustee or member.
