Presbyterian Hospital Matthews Honored As 5-Star Customer Service Hospital

Presbyterian Hospital Matthews has been named a 2003 PRC 5-Star Customer Service Hospital in Inpatient Services by Professional Research Consultants, Inc. PRC is a nationally-known healthcare marketing research company headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska.
Presbyterian Hospital Matthews, located at 1500 Matthews Township Parkway, Matthews, NC, offers a full range of medical services including inpatient and outpatient surgery, radiology, laboratory, emergency services and cardiac catheterization at its 102-private-room facility.
The 5-Star Customer Service designation is limited to only those hospitals or health facilities that achieved a score in the top 10% of the nation, based on the percent of patients who rated their hospital as "Excellent" for Overall Quality of Care in 2002. Of more than 200 hospitals and health facilities currently conducting inpatient satisfaction research, 20 facilities were 5-Star Customer Service hospitals for inpatient care.
This patient satisfaction research is conducted weekly throughout the year. PRC contacts a random sample of patients by telephone for a confidential interview to assess their satisfaction shortly after their hospital experience. The research findings are presented to the hospital to use in continuously improving patient satisfaction.
